Aggressive DUI Defense Representation

Being charged with drunk driving is a serious, potentially, life-altering matter. Also referred to as driving under the influence (DUI) or driving after imbibing (DAI), a drunk driver conviction can result in significant fines, a suspension of your driver's license and even incarceration. If you are charged with DUI, it is critical that you meet with an experienced DUI attorney immediately.

Our lawyers at Griest, Himes, Herrold, Reynosa LLP, in York County, are skilled at representing clients charged with DUI offenses. We have years of criminal law experience that we put to use in every DUI case. We will fully explain your rights, the court process, and all of the options that are available to you.

Driver's License Suspension

If you are arrested for DUI, your driver's license may be suspended if you are convicted. If you refuse to take a chemical test, your license will automatically be suspended. If you have received notice from PennDOT that your license will be suspended it is important to contact an experienced attorney immediately in order to discuss your options. If you fail to request an appeal within the appropriate time period, you will forever forfeit your opportunity to challenge the suspension.

Accelerated Rehabilitative Disposition (ARD)

Pennsylvania offers an alternative type of program for first-time offenders of non-violent crimes. This is called the Accelerated Rehabilitative Disposition Program (ARD). The program offers a way for individuals to avoid jail time, shorten any potential license suspension, and have their record expunged after successful completion. As part of ARD, you may have to undergo alcohol education and treatment classes, attend meetings with your supervising Probation Officer, be free of additional criminal charges, community service, and pay court-ordered fines along with any other specific requirements that the court orders.

Not all offenders are eligible for the ARD Program. However, since we have an extensive understanding of ARD and have had hundreds of clients accepted into the program, we can provide you with a straightforward assessment of whether or not we believe you will be a good candidate for ARD.
